Urgent : South African Government to Control ALL Agricultural Land - Read This Now!  Public Comments Expire Today (30 May 2015)

The Draft Preservation and Development of Agricultural Land Framework Bill has quietly been slipped in and comments close today!  Please read this and do something if you are a land owner in this country, future land owner, or have any thoughts about subdividing or rezoning your land! The email addresses to comment to are as follows - please email the government directly!  Just commenting on this blog won't be enough.  Call for a 1 year moratorium on this Bill so that the people of this country can understand the implications properly and contest it!

lydiab@daff.gov.za; mashuduma@daff.gov.za; DG@daff.gov.za;
MokutuleK@daff.gov.za; MortimerM@daff.gov.za.

The Bill is a very scary read!  While is mentions (briefly), the "right to farm", it is pure window dressing.  The Bill is a way for the South African government to take ownership of all land in this country and dictate what must be done on it.  Can you say "land grab...?".

It is a well documented fact that the likes of Monsanto, Syngenta and DuPont have a strangle-hold on our government and, as a result, we are the only country in the world with a genetically modified staple crop!

What this Bill says is that the government will be classifying all land into 8 different categories and if you aren't producing crops the way they want you to (called "high potential for intensive crop production"), they will step in and take over.  The Bill also says they may delegate these duties as they see fit and they don't need your permission to enter your land without due cause or a warrant and take samples.

So all that has to happen is for them to delegate it to Monsanto, who declare your land high potential for intensive crop production, declare you incompetent or in breach of this Act; the state takes over, and makes you plant GM seeds ... or whatever other nefarious ideas our idiotic government come up with!  And if you don't comply, you can spend up to 5 years in prison and get an (undisclosed amount) fine!  You will also be taxed to "encourage" the "correct use" of your land.  WTF!!!!

Not only that, but what happens to pristine bush or veld that has endless indigenous plants and animals on it?  They take a sample, decide it's high potential and plough it all down? What will this mean for our national parks and people with game and nature reserves? The Act is purposely vague.

Don't for one second believe our government has your best interests at heart, because it doesn't!  This Bill is not only unconstitutional as far as I am concerned, but highly unethical! You must read between the lines here!  Contest this Bill now! (And any other dodgy ones in the works).

Here are some of my favourite highlights from it :

Guys you need to please email the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. It doesn't help to protest via blog comments, we must email the department.

Landowners wake up. The ownership of land in South Africa is skewed towards white people. We all know that and if you dont believe it, you are in a dangerous denial. Therefore we should expect that at one time or another something is going to be done about it. Be proactive rather than sit back and complain. Can the farmers organization come up with a proposal to fix this. A proposal that they should be fully involved in on implementation. If the landowners or farmers just sit back and oppose bills. Everyone really has to be honest with themselves here and avoid the Zimbabwean situation.

There are a lot of land owners of all colours, we cannot be side-tracked by a race issue right now. This is another important turning point for this country - we cannot forget who the real enemy is.

Veronique, I checked the email addresses and did not find them.
I found this address: Ms Lydia Bosoga
Director Land Use and Soil Management
Beatrix Street,
Agriculture Place,
Arcadia, Pretoria |
Private Bag X250,
Pretoria, South Africa
LydiaB@daff.gov.za
I also used these other three:
DG@daff.gov.za
MokutuleK@daff.gov.za
MortimerM@daff.gov.za

I can post the letter I sent so people can use this as an example.
But Veronique I want to know where you got this info from and the date of 30 May, I did not see anywhere, can you give me the references?

In hindsight, a 1 year moratorium is not sufficient, the Bill must just be scrapped. I hope the Government woke up to an overflowing inbox this morning...

There surely are lots of other methods and plans to optimize production of food on farm land than by simply taking control of all the agricultural land .That is if the government really has the food supply in mind.

This kind of Bill is being introduced and implemented worldwide. A global agenda unfolding right under most people's noses and they don't even notice nor do they comprehend it's import.

Agreed. Well they're Trying anyway - but I believe there are enough awake people to stop that agenda now.
